You need genuinely deep native commerce out of the box — B2B customer groups and price lists, multi-storefront, headless builds — and you have a developer for its theme layer. At that depth it competes with Shopify, not with us.
BigCommerce or Shoopy? The honest comparison.
One prices by what you sell — and moves you up a tier when you grow. The other prices by the plan you pick. Here is the side-by-side, sourced against BigCommerce’s June 2026 restructure.
BigCommerce Core costs $29 a month billed annually — about ₹33,400 a year — with a $30,000 trailing-sales ceiling and, since June 2026, a 2% fee on orders through non-embedded gateways such as Razorpay. Shoopy starts at ₹2,499 a year with no revenue ceiling and order fees capped at ₹5.

Two platforms. Two different buyers.
You sell in India and want growth to be good news. No revenue ceiling, rupee billing, GST invoices, WhatsApp ordering and five Indian gateways built in — at a price that does not move when your sales do.
Same sales. Two very different bills.
A store doing 300 orders a month at an ₹800 average order — ₹28,80,000 in yearly sales — paying through Razorpay, using the published rates above.
₹33,408 plan + 2% Open-provider fee on about ₹25,92,000 of counted sales (₹51,840) = about ₹85,000 a year — and the store sits just under Core’s $30,000 ceiling, one good quarter from a forced upgrade to Growth at $79/month.
₹5,499 plan + ₹5-capped fees on 3,100 orders past the free 500 (₹15,500) = ₹20,999 a year — and no ceiling to watch.
Illustrative, from rates read August 2026, converted at ₹96/$. BigCommerce computes its fee and ceiling on “Inclusive GMV” — gross sales less 10% — which is what the ₹25,92,000 reflects; the 2% drops away if your gateway is on its embedded list. Shoopy Professional 0.8% capped at ₹5. GST and gateway charges apply on both.

Everything sellers ask about BigCommerce vs Shoopy.
How much does BigCommerce cost in 2026?
After its June 2026 restructure, BigCommerce lists Core at $29 a month billed annually ($39 month-to-month), Growth at $79 and Scale at $299, with Performance quoted custom from $1,499 a month. In rupees at ₹96 to the dollar, Core is about ₹33,400 a year — billed in US dollars, so the cost moves with the exchange rate.
What are BigCommerce’s revenue ceilings and why do they matter?
Each plan carries a trailing twelve-month sales ceiling, counted on “Inclusive GMV” (gross order value less 10%): $30,000 on Core and $100,000 on Growth. Cross it and BigCommerce upgrades you to the next tier automatically and bills the higher rate, whether or not you wanted new features. Shoopy has no equivalent ceiling on any plan.
Does BigCommerce charge a transaction fee?
Historically no — that was its calling card against Shopify. Since June 1, 2026 it charges an “Open Payment Provider” fee on orders processed outside its embedded gateway list: 2% on Core, 1% on Growth and 0.6% on Scale. The embedded list is built around Stripe, PayPal Braintree, Adyen and similar — Razorpay and PayU are not on it, so most Indian stores pay the fee.
What does Shoopy give a seller that BigCommerce doesn’t?
Rupee billing with no revenue ceiling, an official WhatsApp integration, GST-compliant invoicing built in rather than bought as an app, five Indian payment gateways natively — Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, PhonePe and Easebuzz — a branded app for your store from ₹3,999 a year, and a delivery agent app for your own riders.
Can I migrate my BigCommerce store to Shoopy?
Yes. Shoopy’s team exports and imports your products, variants, customers and order history, then helps repoint your domain and reconnect your payment gateway. Most stores are live within about a week — a complex catalogue can take longer — and there is a 14-day free trial with a 7-day money-back guarantee after you pay.
