How Tenat runs quick commerce in Ibrahimpatnam

Tenat calls itself “Ibrahimpatnam’s own quick-commerce platform” — groceries, snacks, drinks, personal care and household essentials delivered to the doorstep in minutes, in one town in Telangana. Its shipping policy states the shape plainly: delivery only within Ibrahimpatnam, an average delivery time of 10 to 30 minutes, and products delivered from partner supermarkets. The website, the Android app and the iOS app all run on one Shoopy store.

The problem: a town’s quick commerce, not a metro’s

The quick-commerce apps built their model for big cities: dark stores, thousands of riders, venture funding. A town of Ibrahimpatnam’s size needs the same customer experience — order on the phone, delivered in minutes — without that machinery. Tenat’s store had to handle all of this from one system:

• Take orders only from customers it can actually reach, and say so before the basket is filled.
• Charge for delivery by how far the rider has to go, and drop the charge when the basket is large enough.
• Let the customer say when they want the order.
• Hand each order to a rider without a phone call, and let the customer watch it move.
• Be on the customer’s home screen, under Tenat’s own name, so the weekly reorder is one tap.

Delivery zones by distance

Tenat’s delivery zones are distance bands around the shop, each with its own flat charge: the first half-kilometre, then out to one, two, three and five kilometres, with a further “all locations” band for the edge of its range. The site’s footer states the outer limit — “delivering in 7 kms” — and the threshold above which delivery is free, ₹499. A customer picks their location in the header before shopping, so the store knows which band they fall in from the first screen.

The customer chooses the delivery time

The store accepts orders from 8 AM to 11 PM. At checkout the customer states the delivery date and time they want; Tenat captures both through extra checkout fields on the order form, so the shop and the rider see the promised time on the order itself rather than in a chat thread. Express delivery is switched on for the near bands, which is where the 10-to-30-minute average comes from.

Riders on the Delivery Partner App

Riders use the Shoopy Delivery Partner App. The store owner assigns local deliveries to staff from the Shoopy Business app; riders join by invitation from the store’s admin, and each new assignment arrives in the rider’s app with the customer’s address and details. At the door the rider confirms the delivery with the customer’s OTP and a photo of the packet, so every order carries its own proof of delivery. The customer sees the order’s status change as it moves.

Website, Android app and iOS app, one catalogue

Tenat’s customers can shop on the website, in the Android app or in the iOS app — all three links sit on the store’s own pages. The apps carry Tenat’s name and icon, published under the merchant’s own developer account, and read the same catalogue, prices and stock as the website. A price change or a new product goes live everywhere at once, and every order lands in the same order list.
